Reducing healthcare risk associated with water from tap to drain.

This session will explore common risk factors from waterborne hazards, pathogens, microbial growth and associated infections.

Speaker:  Evan Shire, Territory Manager for Mark’s Plumbing Parts.

Shire has spent the past 35 plus years developing his ability to effectively solve problems for the professionals in many different types of facilities. The advances in technology have enabled him to explore even more avenues of service. Shire received a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University in Economics. This laid his foundation in understanding a broad range of business models. He has never met a stranger and certainly is not often lost for words especially when discussing college baseball.

Atmospheric Conditions and the Resulting Weather

Join us as Richard Smith with the National Weather Service explores atmospheric conditions that lead to tornadoes, and freezing conditions. He will share his thoughts on advances in technology and early warning systems and changes that may be occurring in Oklahoma. 

Speakers: Richard Smith, Warning Coordination Meteorologist, National Weather Service

Rick Smith is the Warning Coordination Meteorologist at the National Weather Service’s Norman Forecast Office. He manages NWS Norman’s hazardous weather preparedness, outreach and education activities for the office’s 56 county area of responsibility. Rick and the NWS Norman staff work closely with the media, emergency managers and other state, county, tribal and local government officials to ensure that communities in central and western Oklahoma and western north Texas are ready when hazardous weather threatens.

Rick has been a meteorologist with the National Weather Service since 1992, working at offices in Memphis, Tennessee, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Fort Worth, Texas before coming to Norman in 2002.

Irrigation Fundamentals, Trends & Increasing Your ROI

The basics of irrigation will be covered, as well as educational information pertaining to new technology, water conservation, regulations and safety/risk control.

Speaker:  Brian Hopper, Operations Manager at Landscapes USA – Mr. Hopper received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Oklahoma. He serves on the United Way of Norman finance council, teaches 4th graders at his church. He is a past officer of BOMA and is an active member of the AACO and IFMA.
